- 31 May 2009: Annual Parish Meeting. Information related to the Church finances was presented and also a new Parish counsel was elected for the up coming year.

- Sunday, March 15, We were blessed to have a visit from Metropolitan HILARION, Eastern America and New York Diocese, FIRST HIERARCH of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia.
We will had a hierarchal service presided by the Metropolitan at 9:30 am with a dinner following.

- Sunday, December 21, Sister Irena was tonsured to a full nun by Archmandrite Athanasy.
This was a rare event, according to Fr. Athanasy, the rector of Russian Othodox Church of Our Lady "Joy of all who Sorrow", this is the first time in the history of Philadelphia that a nun has been tonsured in the Orthodox faith.
She will be henceforth be known as Mother Anne in honor of our wonderworking and Myrr streaming icon of Saint Anne the Mother of Mary and Grandmother of Jesus.
Sister Anne will be performing her duties at the Russian Othodox Church of Our Lady "Joy of all who Sorrow" in Philadelphia, PA
