Икона Божией Матери «Всех скорбящих Радость с грошиками»
Всех скорбящих Радость с грошиками - чудотворная икона с прилипшими к красочному слою во время пожара медными монетами (на списках с иконы монеты изображаются краской).
По преданию, образ был прибит волнами к имению купцов Куракиных на Неве. Впоследствии икона перешла к купцу Матвееву, мать которого происходила из рода Куракиных, который пожертвовал ее часовне деревни Клочки под Петербургом, находившуюся вблизи Петербургского стеклянного завода.
23 июля 1888 года во время грозы в часовню ударила молния. После того, как потушили пожар, с удивлением увидели, что икона Всех скорбящих Радость не только не сгорела, но обновилась, лик Богородицы просветился. Стоявшая рядом кружка для пожертвований разбилась вдребезги и 12 «грошиков» (медных монет) прилепилось к иконе. Весть об этом немедленно разнеслась по Петербургу и толпы людей устремились к иконе, которая прославилась многими чудотворениями.
В 1893 году император Александр III молился в часовне и пожертвовал деньги на строительство каменного храма, который был освящен 2 августа 1898 года.
Празднование этому чудотворному списку иконы совершается 5 августа (23 июля по старому стилю).
В 1930-е годы церковь на набережной Невы была снесена, и в настоящее время икона находится в церкви Пресвятой Троицы «Кулич и Пасха» (Санкт-Петербург).
Эта икона Богоматери не связана с великими историческими событиями - войнами, бунтами, катастрофами, - она очень домашняя. Благость и человечность раскрываются в самом ее имени. Здесь Богородица предстает как величайшая покровительница, о чем говорят слова молитвы к Ней: ”Помощнице еси обидимым, надеющихся надеяние, убогих заступница, печальных утешение, алчущих кормительница, нагих одеяние, больных исцеление, грешных спасение, христиан всех поможение и заступление”. На самой иконе эти убогие люди в ногах Богоматери, а Она окружена ангелами, призванными помогать униженным и оскорбленным. Богоматерь в обычном земном одеянии, понятная и доступная всем. И чудотворность этой иконы самая насущная - исцеление от недугов, спасение от бедности, обретение сил и обычной земной радости. Может поэтому икона так любима в народе, она есть в каждом храме, в каждой обители и домашнем иконостасе.
This is the icon of Our Lady, the Joy of All Who Sorrow with Coins. It is a wonder-working icon onto which copper coins melted into the paint during a fire. (On copies of the icon, the coins are represented by paint).
According to legend, the image was sent by sea to the estate of the Kurakiny merchants on the Neva. Later, the icon passed to the merchant Matveyev, whose mother took the icon from the Kurakiny estate and placed it in a chapel in a village, near a glass plant in St. Petersburg.
On July 23, 1888, during a thunderstorm, lightning struck the chapel and set it on fire. After the fire was extinguished, people were surprised to see that the icon of Our Lady, "Joy of All Who Sorrow" was not burned, but was changed: the Virgin's face was enlightened. The icon was standing beside a container for donations which had been smashed, and 12 half-kopeck copper coins had melted to the icon. News about this event immediately spread to St. Petersburg, and a crowd of people flocked to see the icon, which became famous because people attributed many miracles to it.
In 1893, Tsar Alexander III prayed in the chapel and offered money to build a stone church, which was consecrated on August 2, 1898. In the 1930s, the church containing the icon was demolished. Now, the icon is in Church of the All-Holy Trinity in St. Petersburg.
The feast of this wonder-working copy of the icon is on August 5 (July 23 old style).
This icon of the Mother of God is not connected with great historical events, such as wars, revolts, or accidents. Its name reveals goodness and humanity. Here the Virgin appears as a great patroness, about whom the words of the prayer to her speak: "A helper for the wronged art thou, the hope of the hopeless, an intercessor for the poor, the consolation of the sorrowful, a nourisher of the hungry, a robe for the naked, healing for the sick, salvation of sinners, the help and protection of all Christians."
On the icon itself, these wretched people are at the feet of Mother of God, surrounded by angels called to help those who are humbled and those who have been insulted. The Mother of God is in her usual earthly garment, understandable and accessible to all. And most important are the wonders this icon has worked - healing from ailments, rescue from poverty, strengthening people, and providing joy. Therefore this icon is so beloved by the people that one can find it in every church and home prayer corner.
